Government Awards Padmas to 15 Agriculturists.

As the total list of candidates for Padma awards has been announced, Vice president Venkaiah Naidu expressed his happiness that 15 Farmers are being recognized for the award.

One among those people is Punjab Agriculture University Vice-Chancellor Baldev Singh Dhillon. Others include Bharat Bhushan Tyagi a notable organic farming contributor, Ram Saran Verma a farmer using wide technology in farming from Uttar Pradesh, Agriculturist Venkateswar rao yadlapalli. These are the progressive farmers who used modern techniques and cultures in Cultivation.

Kanwal singh Chauhan for babycorn and mushroom, Vallabhai Vasrambhai Marvaniya for carrot and Jagdish Prasad Parikh for cauliflower are other notable winners of the award.

Traditional farmers who won the award for conserving old, traditional farming and promoting organic farming are Babulal Dahiya, Hukumchand Patidhar, Kamala Pujhari, Rajkumar devi.

It is good to see that people from farming community are recognised and awarded the Padmas. May this encourage the people to progress by adopting modern techniques.
